Armacore fins are designed for high performance; offering precise, induced flex at a very light weight. The flex allows power to be stored and then released to perform turns through waves, while the stiffness in calm water allows for excellent control.
The most impressive aspect of the new Armacore collection is that it offers a sustainable solution with closed loop recycling and contributes to the creation of a circular economy. The core of the fin is made from Armacel, which is made from 100% recycled plastic bottles. The fins are constructed with a revolutionary bio-recyclable epoxy resin that can be recycled to recover and reuse all of the materials without using any new ones. Essentially, the fin can be submerged in a solution for 2-3 hours, during which time the resin, core and reinforcement fibres separate. These can be reused in part to create new fins or other bio-based products such as parts like foot straps. This award-winning system has the potential to change the entire industry’s view on how moulds, tools, boards and fins can be recycled.
