Repairs
To reduce the environmental footprint of practicing our beloved sport, SUP Montreal offers a comprehensive repair service for all types of inflatable boards. Take advantage of our expertise to give your equipment a new lease on life rather than replacing it.
Repairs are managed by appointment only, via the link at the bottom of the page. The appointment is for dropping off your board at the shop.
Repairs are carried out in our specialized workshop and not on site, with an average turnaround time of one to two weeks.
Exception: boards purchased from SUP Montreal can be dropped off without an appointment.
Prices vary depending on the scope of work required, but most common repairs cost between $40 and $90.
Here are some examples of common repairs we perform:
-
Seam delamination, explosions
-
Leak repair, patching holes or scrapes
-
Loose deck pad
-
Accessory installation (e.g., seat anchors or bungees)
-
Fin box replacement
If the damage is too extensive or compromises safety of use, the team reserves the right to refuse the repair if necessary.
REPAIR FAQ
Can I get an estimate before dropping off my board?
Of course, just send us an email at info@montrealsup.com with a description, close-up photos of the damage, and a full photo of the board.
Do you offer express or priority service?
Yes, upon request. The emergency service fee is $30. The average turnaround time for an emergency repair is 3-4 days but cannot be guaranteed.
What if I live far from Montreal?
Inflatable boards are easy to ship. A popular option is to drop off your board in person and we will ship it back to you when it's ready. Delivery costs approximately $25 to $40, sometimes more economical than traveling back and forth to Montreal. Request this option when you drop off.
Do you repair all brands of inflatable boards?
Yes, we repair the vast majority of models and brands of inflatable SUP boards, whether purchased from us or elsewhere. Hard boards are not accepted.
Can I have my board repaired even if it's heavily damaged?
In most cases, yes. However, if a previous repair makes a new intervention impossible or if it compromises safety, we may refuse the repair after examining it in the workshop.
Can I have other inflatable items repaired (kayaks, mattresses, etc.)?
We specialize exclusively in inflatable paddleboards. Other equipment is not handled.
What should I bring when I drop off my board?
Only the board, clean and deflated. You can bring the bag to transport it and pick it up, but we will not keep it during the repair. Accessories such as the fin, leash, pump, or paddle should be left at home.
If you already know the source of the leak, you can mark the damaged area with adhesive tape.
How does communication work during the repair?
After examination in the workshop, if the scope of work is much greater than expected, we will contact you before performing any major additional work.
As soon as your board is back at the shop, you will receive an email informing you of its availability.
How long do I have to pick up my board?
You have 10 days from receiving the email to pick up your board at the shop. After the 10-day period, storage fees of $1 per day will apply.
Do you offer a warranty on repairs?
No, a repair always involves some risk and factors beyond our control. However, each board is thoroughly tested before leaving the workshop to ensure your safety and the durability of the work performed.
Do you have any tips to avoid new leaks or damage?
Yes! To avoid any risk of explosion and seam delamination, remember to put your board in the shade when it is out of the water or deflate it by a few PSI.
Make sure to maintain your board well: wash it, dry it, and store it properly after each use.
Avoid folding your boards directly on areas that have been re-glued, as well as on the ends of fin boxes.
