In the category of inflatable boards under $800, some concessions are often made on construction or accessories. This is often where the difference lies between a decent board and a truly enjoyable board to use over several seasons.
With this special edition Redwood Paddle, on the contrary, we find elements usually seen on higher-end boards like Starboard.

Chris Defrance
Born in the 1970s, Chris Defrance fell into extreme sports from his earliest childhood. He is one of those who shaped their lives around their passions. Windsurfing and snowboarding, his youthful loves, were the driving force behind his adventures.
Always guided by the same desire: to push boundaries and create equipment that lives up to his dreams, Chris armed himself with a good dose of audacity and built his own glide sanctuary by creating BTR (Born To Ride) in 1999.
In 2007, in his garage, Chris handcrafted his first paddles from Red Cedar wood; at the time, stand-up paddleboarding was still in its infancy. Everything had to be invented. The shapes, the materials, the uses. That's where Redwoodpaddle was born.

Julie Defrance
Redwoodpaddle, today, is no longer a garage. It's a team of enthusiasts, a 1500m² workshop in Canet en Roussillon, and thousands of boards, paddles, and accessories shipped worldwide.
For several years, Julie, Chris's daughter, has joined the adventure. Raised in the culture of watersports and inspired by the same passion as her father, she perpetuates the Redwoodpaddle spirit: one of kindness, sharing, attentiveness, and quality.
She accompanies every rider, whether it's for personalized advice or the creation of a custom paddle. Her goal? For each board to reflect the personality and desires of the person riding it.
